It raised fares post-pandemic, due to reduced capacity, financial hardship and anticipated demand.Therefore, Hongkongers have found themselves coughing up large sums to get to the destinations they have long been waiting to visit. In mid-August, Cathay offered steeply discounted fares, further boosting demand. It is finally raking in a profit for the first time since the pandemic.
